IWC Big Pilot 5002 transitional

Presenting the IWC Big Pilot Transitional. This is a very rare find as only approx 250 of these are in existence. The transitional is the older styled dial with the newer high beat more accurate movement. When OWC made their new movement for the modern Big Pilot, they had approx. 250 dials left over from the original design that they decided to use before they changed to the newer dial. Many people prefer the original dial with all the markers glowing (instead of 4) and the white background date wheel which is more legible and of course the rarity of it. This is the original big pilot sought out by collectors as many like it better then the new version. This watch is in excellent overall condition with a fresh service and the original box and paperst. The coatings on the crystal are perfect and the watch is keeping time within 1 sec/ day on our timing machine. Many people prefer the original dial with all 12 hour markers being luminous rather then the new format where only the 4 corners glow. The band shows no signs of wear and has plenty of life left and this surely is a great watch for the money and to add to your collection.
